The first number represents the number of years the rate will be fixed at the initial interest rate. After the initial fixed rate period, the loan converts to an adjustable rate loan. The second number represents the fact that the interest rate will adjust once per year after the initial fixed rate period.
 
Interest Only:
Financing that requires only the repayment of interest for a designated amount of time 3, 5, 7 or 10 years.
